Interactive kiosks expand into restaurants

Self-service kiosks continue to grow in fast food chains and casual dining restaurants, increasing in popularity among brands and consumers alike. While kiosks may not be the right solution for all restaurants, in the right environments, they improve speed of service and provide a very satisfying solution among their customers.

Likewise, fast food restaurants can use kiosks to boost sales, increase throughput and prevent customers from leaving when lines are long. In these restaurant categories, customer use of kiosks increased over last year.

Many customers prefer kiosks to cashiers. If line lengths were equal, 30% of customers would prefer to order at a self-service kiosk. With a line of more than four people, that number increases to a majority.
